As the world continues to mourn flamboyant and fearless politician Orie Rogo Manduli, details show she separated from her first husband, Ondieki.
In an interview, Manduli said Ondieki took issue after they were consecutively blessed with three daughters; Elizabeth, Allison and Janice without a son in between. As a result, the politician said her husband, who was a civil servant, said he wanted to move out so he could get sons, and that's how their five-year marriage crumbled.
The deceased tried to sue Ondieki for child support and despite Justice Cecil Miller ordering him to provide for their daughters, he heed none of it. She gave up and resolved to take care of her daughters alone and survive within her means
She said she had to do extra jobs, apart from her daily work at Voice of Kenya, now KBC, to provide for her daughters.
Manduli breathed her last on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. She was the first Kenyan woman rally driver and her iconic fashion made her unique and expensive fashion designs made her stand out among all the female political figures. She was also the first woman chair of NGO council and she fought to be heard in instances where she felt she was not heard or her leadership was being questioned due to gender bias.
