CM

Court proceedings;

Bosire: He has reconsidered?

Khaminwa: My lords, he will open up as we continue.

Bosire: Alright.

Miller: My lords, I will request you not to limit me very much, so that I can make him tell us more.

Bosire: if he tells us more through you, then the others will have no questions.

Miller: The better any lords, so don’t limit me any lords.

Bosire: Alright. Miller Thank you my lords. Now Mr Mukanda, you indicated in you statement that you worked with Pan African Bank Ltd, is that correct?

Mukanda: Correct my lords.

Miller: Can you tell the commission when you worked for Pan African Bank.

Mukanda: That was between 1983 and 1988 my lords.

Miller: By the time you left Pan African Bank, in what capacity were you?

Mukanda: My lords, I was a banking officer.

Miller: And by the time you left, who was the chairman of Pan African Bank?

Mukanda: My lords, it was Mr Mohammed Aslam,

Miller: Now, let us move to Exchange Bank. Do you recall who the foreign department manager was at Exchange Bank?

Mukanda: We had two managers, there was a lady by the name Nadia _ and Mr Stephen Kimani.

Miller: Now would you recall a name NS Srikanth?

Mukanda: Yes my lords, he was operating from the offices of Goldenberg.

Miller: Yes, but was not he at any one time the foreign exchange manager at the Exchange Bank. I ask that because we have some documents where he had signed as the foreign exchange manager of Exchange Bank.

Mukanda: As I said, my lords, in my statement, I have said there were some officials who wore signing on behalf of the bank but were actually not operating from the bank premises, and Snkanth was one of there.

Miller: So, was he a bank employee or a Goldenberg employee?

Mukanda: What I can say is, he was not in the payroll of the bank.

Miller: You mentioned a few companies that had bank accounts at exchange bank.

Mukanda: Yes my Lords.

Mukanda: No my Lords i wouldnt remember that.

Miller: And you certainly cannot remember if Mr Srikanth was involved in those accounts.

The proceedings were adjourned prematurely because of a power blackout
