A MARRIAGE certificate obtained by a woman seeking the control of over the Sh50 million estate of the late Moyale Member of Parliament, Dr Guracha Galgalo was fraudulently obtained, three lawyers told the court yesterday. Lawyers Cecil Miller, Alfred Nyandieka and Sheba Mohammed confirmed to Justice Onyancha theta marriage certificate secured , by Reherna Dida Jaldesa. All the lawyers are appearing in a case pitting the two women Rehema and Bernadetta Okotu Shama. Rehema is opposed to Ber-nadetta being given control of the estate of the deceased Galgalo who perished in the Mars-abit plane crash last year.
Mohammed had been called to testify in favour of Rehema Since he handled a divorce ease between her and Jillo. Mohammed told the judge that Jillo disclosed to him that lie used under hand : deals to secure the marriage certificate between him and Rehema for official use in their places of work. The lawyer told the judge that Jillo said an official document was needed at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) where Jaldesa was working to be awarded medical cover as she was expectant.
The military officer further divulged to the witness that he needed the certificate to enable his then wife to access facilities at the Department of Defence (DoD). Rehema claims she divorced Jilin through Talak and later got married to Dr Galgalo tinder Islamic rites. The late MP married Bernadetta in a Christian wedding ceremony officiated by a Catholic Priest in Isiolo 1993 and they had been blessed with three – When Galgalo. died, Bernadetta obtained letters of administration over his estate but Retie has raised an objection saying she should alsdo be included as an administrator of the vast estate of the deceased. Hearing of the case proceeds November 28.
