On 22 October 2013, The Senior Master sitting in the High Court at the Royal Courts of Justice made a Group Litigation Order, “GLO”, (subject to the approval of the President of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court of Justice) for the case management of any claims against the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office, any other department, minister, or agency of HM Government, or any officials, officers or other person acting on behalf of HM Government, arising from or relating to events in Kenya between 20 October 1952 and 12 December 1963.
Such claims shall constitute and be known as the ‘Kenyan Emergency Group Litigation’.
Any solicitor with clients who wish to join the group litigation must immediately:
Register that interest with the Law Society’s multiparty action group in the United Kingdom; • Notify the Lead Solicitors: Tandem Law, 34 High Street, ManchesterM4 1QBUnited Kingdom; • Join the Group Register held by the Lead Solicitor no later than 4pm UK time on 30 April 2014.
By that order of The Senior Master, no Claimant may be added to the Group Register after the closing date unless the Management Court gives permission.

The High Court has ordered that no person may bring a claim after 30th April 2014 and therefore any person wishing to make a claim should do so before this date and therefore you need to act now.
In order to qualify to bring a claim within the Kenyan Emergency Group Litigation, the following criteria must be met: (1) You personally must have a claim for compensation arising from or relating to events in Kenya between 20 October 1952 and 12 December 1963.
In other words:
(a) You must have suffered some form of mistreatment during the time period indicated; and (b) The mistreatment must have been inflicted by or on behalf of the State, whether British or Kenyan.
Also:
(2) You personally are prepared to give a witness statement and have a Kenyan Identity Card.
