Lawyer Cecil Miller acts for Mary Wambui in Othaya petition

THE hearing of the petition of challenging the March 4 election of Mary Wambui as Othaya MP has been postponed to Wednesday next week.

High Court judge Jairus Ngaah postponed the hearing yesterday during the second trial conference.

During the conference, lawyers applied for time for the parties to argue on an application of the recount and scrutiny of the ballot papers for Othaya parliamentary seat.

Ngaah ruled that after the Wednesday hearing, the case will go to full trail for four days from June 4 to June 7.

Peter Gichuki King’ara, who was second in the election, has filed a petition at Nyeri High Court claiming the poll was marred by irregularities and anomalies arising from the voting and tallying exercise.
