Ex-employee wants to sue NBK officials

A court today will hear an application by former National Bank of Kenya legal officer to initiate private prosecution against two senior bank officials for sacking him.

Leonard Kamweti wants to be allowed to prosecute bank chairman Mohammed Abdirahaman and managing director Munir Ahmed for unlawfully sacking him. ‘When the case came up for mention yesterday, principal magistrate Enock Cherono directed the application be heard today in Milimani courts.

Lawyers George Oraro and Cecil Miller, representing the two officials, and Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko have opposed a private suit.
